We're Still Here

Yup, we're still baking and breathing!

We decided last year, especially since Bryon's work took him out of town for weeks at a time, that we would pass up the 2016 Farmer's Market. I took advantage of this time to catch up on our home school and other fun things! I lost track of how many times I did get to go kayaking! We even went on vacation - first time in eight years!

Stonewall Jackson Lake WVA - conquered!
So, this fall we decided to ease back into the market thru Miami County Locally Grown Virtual Market.  This has been very nice for us. If you're not familiar with this (there is one in Champaign Co. as well, but other wise it's a first for me too!): the market opens on a Tuesday evening to take orders online the whole week until Sunday night. It is very easy - user friendly, so to speak.
We as vendors then have Monday to prepare the orders and deliver them the next evening (Tuesday) to Troy at First Place Christian Center 16 W. Franklin St. This is customer pick up location only.
Then than night after pick up the market opens and starts up again.

I know our family has really enjoyed access to local honey and fresh local greens! There is a large supply of fresh local meat, lots of yummy baked goods, soaps and bath products from several different vendors - it is as said a virtual farmers market!
The only downfall is that we as vendors don't have much customer contact. I always enjoyed that, it invites feedback, suggestions and over all relations with the customer. But is is in a good location for pick up and quite ideal in many other aspects as far as quick shopping goes!

So this is where we are with our Pizza Crusts and Cookies.
Right now we are baking Ginger Snaps and Aunt Sarah's cookies regularly as well as Sourdough, Wheat, and White Pizza crusts. We'll have our bread back this summer at the Cherry St. Market. I'm looking forward to having some new things like Pita Bread!

I volunteered to help out on market pick up night in March, hopefully I see you then! Take care and don't forget to check out the Miami County Locally Grown Virtual Market. to see what might bless your table this winter.
